Jumbo Globe has always been dedicated to sustainable architecture and protecting the environment through green design and practices. As part of our commitment to sustainability, the JG team recently was invited by Hysan development to participate a community tour of the Lee Gardens Area in Causeway Bay. This tour provided us with a deep understanding of the area’s century-long evolution and allowed us to explore the harmonious blend of old and new within the community. Additionally, we had the opportunity to engage in a soilless cultivation workshop, actively promoting green and environmental messages through hands-on practice.
Architecture for Sustainability: Rediscovering the Legacy and Present of the Lee Gardens
The tour commenced at Hysan Place, where we gained valuable insights into sustainable design principles. We passed by multiple tenement buildings and revitalized properties in the Lee Gardens Area and admired the architectural features and design details preserved from the last century. To conclude the tour, we visited “The Colours of Causeway Bay” photo exhibition, which showcased rare historical photographs, providing a captivating visual narrative of the transformation of Lee Gardens over the past century.

Practicing Green Environmental Concepts: Experiencing the Soilless Cultivation Workshop
At Jumbo Globe, we not only advocate for sustainable architecture but also actively strive to raise awareness of green environmental practices among our employees. Following the immersive tour of the Lee Gardens area, our team participated in a soilless cultivation workshop. With the guidance of plant cultivation experts, we engaged in the process of transferring plants and learning that this new technique could effectively convert ozone(O3) in greenhouse gases into oxygen(O2), purify carbon emissions and significantly reduce costs. Our team members showed great interest and considered applying it to their future design practices. We believe that such activities not only enhance teamwork and communication but also promote environmental consciousness and encourage sustainable practices to foster a greener future.
